Beyond Reality - Dream Higher Than Anyone Else

"Well... Listen carefully." said Kevin as everybody in the bar shut up. "Canyon Of Death... We don't know any other place than this. We don't know England nor Japan. We only know the Canyon Of Death, the place where we live. It is not a dangerous place as the name suggests. Here, everybody can survive. There are enough resources for everbody. There are certain parts of the country of Canyon where we can cultivate and get some water. Our world is balanced. Everyone is happy and it's a little difficult to find bad guys here. As you can see, we are bikers, we win money from betting at races. Our passion is to race, our passion are the bikes. We drive every road, jumped every cliff and screamed every first place, except for one place." "A place where nobody has still raced yet..." said another bike "That's right!" said Kevin "The Devil's Road, Route 66. Nobody ever raced there. We only know where the road starts, we don't know what can happen there. Everybody is afraid of it." "But... Of all roads you already explored, why are you afraid of this one?" asked Denzel

"I imagine there must be a myth of some kind like that people go missing there or something?"Asked Daru

"In three days, we are planning to go there and race for the first time. We are the generations with the guts to do it. Why is it so "cursed", you say?... Some generations ago, when someone found the route. That person died right in front of it. He slipped off his bike and mysteriously his bike hit him on his back. He died immediately. From that day, nobody raced there because of the 66 sign. That is why this Canyon changed its name to Canyon Of Death." said Kevin

"Ah but that means someone survived to spread the rumour right?"Said Daru"So somebody here know's what really happened that day"

"Well though kid, but no... That person went alone. Only then, when they were looking for him, they found his body." "But, how do you know what happened during the accident?" asked Denzel "A little strange but true. Those persons, they saw that man standing on the ground, and the bike on a vertical position, smashing him little by little, right above that biker with the motor turned on."

"Seems likes it could be a Poltergeist if they were real"Said Daru"But one more question,are the people who observed red this still alive today?"

"Yes... Poltergeist... About those people, they only lived for 66 more days. After that, they all died. They were three persons. They all had six knives stabbed in their heart. Who did it? We don't know. After that day, nothing else happened, but we can't get out of here unless we go trough Route 66." said Kevin "Amazing..." said Denzel

"It sounds sure interesting"Said Daru"Do you have the bike here or has something happened to that too?"

"No. The bike must still be there at that place. The body wasn't even brought here. I am sorry for that guy..." said Kevin

"If i take a look at it there might be something wrong with it"Said Daru"I'm sure there is a logical answer to all this,sure of it"

Everybody stared at Daru. They laughed at him "Hahahaha, do you think that a kid like you solve that problem?" "Do you even know how to ride a bike? Haha!". Bikers were throwing jokes at Daru.

"So do you not want any help getting out of here then?"Asked Daru looked around"Cos im getting out of here,and getting out alive!"
Daru walked outside with his drink in hand and started walking off.

"Daru!" Denzel called him. "Come back here." "Let him go!" said Kevin "Don't talk to people when they are frustated, they can say things they don't want." "But..."

Daru drank what was left of his Beer and wandered off to a path on the left

Denzel ignored Kevin and went outside "Hey, Daru!" he called him loud.

Daru turned then placed the bottle on the floor before continuing to wander

"Daru..." Denzel ran towards him "Calm down, dude. Look, by the way they talked, Route 66 is a real dangerous place. It's obvious they won't sacrifice some random dudes like us to go there and check it out, don't you think?"

"I am calm"Said Daru"But i think something is wrong here,i mean none of these guys of heard of Japan or England and i saw no women here so i'm wondering how are they keeping generations alive if this place has only men? and where would they find fuel and metal to create a bike in a place like this?"Daru turned and looked worried"All these unanswered questions are worrying me along with the fact that my beer tasted like apple juice so i'm wandering out here for a bit to think"

Daru and Denzel's bodies reacted. They started to feel somehow a sort of vague pain flowing trough their bodies. "Argh, what the?" said Denzel

"I thought as much"Said Daru"Our drinks were spiked probably along with the food,how much did you eat Denzel?"

"I ate the same quantity I normally eat at our world." said Denzel "It is your bodies reacting to this world." said a shiny and very little floating ball. It was Fairy who took another shape. Fairy got closer to them and kept talking "This world was not designed for bodies from the human world. So, what is happening is a phenomenon called Adaptation. Even though the people who live here are human, their body is different from yours, since they belong to another world. For you to survive, the Secret Dreamer's body use Adaptation, even though sometimes it can be a little painful and annoying. Since you ate their food, your bodies used Adaptation sooner that expected. But don't worry, as time passes, you'll have less problems to deal with it."

"So we're in another world?"Asked Daru"Also do you know anything about a Route 66?"

"I can't tell you about that" said Fairy "It's not because I can't tell, it's because I really don't know. I only found out that this world was open and was getting in dangers, it is all I know." "So it all depends on us, then. But how can we make them convince them that we can go with them to Route 66?" then Denzel remembered what Fairy said "Oh... That's right, the adaptation thing. Most of the inhabitants here are bikers, so it may not be hard to us to become ones too, isn't it. It seems there are still some days left before they ride towards that Route. In the meanwhile, we could start to race and show them what we can do."

"I wonder how they got bikes here..."Said Daru"And yeah i think going with them would be a good idea"

"Who knows... Probably this is not the only place in this world. Think this way, this is another world so it's normal that certain things don't sound right to us, but for them, it's natural, because they are living here since they were born. We haven't even visited the whole town yet. Maybe we could find some women, some mechanics, a small school. They even said that on the other side that they could cultivate, so they have access to that part. What limits them is Route 66." said Denzel
